Initiative. Commitment to quality. Performance: I have a track record of exceptional results. At eighteen, I launched my career as the youngest restaurant owner/operator in the history of Santa Fe with the opening of my downtown restaurant, Mucho Gourmet. Four years later, I sold the restaurant and moved to California, where I distinguished myself as the successful manager of a busy Rubio's franchise, and later, a product knowledge specialist and top salesperson at a Bob Baker auto dealership. My next career move led me to Windemere Exclusive Properties, one of the leading real estate agencies in California, where I was recognized as "Rookie of the Year."

I attribute my drive and strong work ethic to the example set by my mother, Supreme Court Justice Petra Jiminez Maes, the first Hispanic Chief Justice in US history.

With over six years in real estate, four years of business ownership and eleven years in sales and negotiation, I offer a powerful arsenal of skills to both buyers and sellers. Hands-on experience remodeling two homes and seven condos gives me a keen eye for the details of quality construction.

Running a restaurant demands many of the same skills needed to oversee a real estate transaction. You have to work hard, be diplomatic, know your desired outcome, and be able to organize people and events to make it happen.

My enthusiasm, professional management of details and willingness to do whatever-it-takes make me the right choice for all of your real estate needs.

In my free time, I enjoy cycling, hiking, running and spending time with my family.

I am licensed to practice real estate in both New Mexico and California.

Malissa's Bio

A passion for quality, and the drive to make it happen, have earned me awards and acclaim for service, leadership and creative achievement. I am spontaneously warm, scrupulously honest, and dedicated to a tenacious and responsible management of a transaction's many details.  As a result, I consistently earn loyal clients and heartfelt referrals.

Business professionalism was a strong and formative presence from early life. I grew up amidst the culture of one of the world's foremost accounting firms through which I saw firsthand the pleasures-and power-of integrity, ahead-of-the-curve training, and hard work.

Extensive travel and education hard-wired me to be curious, resourceful and inclined to face challenge with a philosophical sense of humor. With a broad-based education in the Great Books (B.A., St. John's College), Botanical Medicine (B.S.), Fine Art, and Comparative Literature, I have a variety of perspectives with which to approach a problem. Living overseas (Geneva and Rome) fine-tuned my ability to adapt to the unexpected.  I speak fluent Italian and slightly rusty French.

Career experience in communications, marketing and administration gave me solid preparation for the most demanding and satisfying adventure of my career. Career highlights include helping ghost-write and edit a book on Career Transitions, serving as Course Administrator for a distance learning program in Integrative Medicine (written and researched by a Time Magazine "Innovator-of-the-Year" and former Chair of the White House Commission for Alternative and Complementary Medicine), and acting as a Co-Director for a contemporary art gallery on Canyon Road.  I've also served on several not-for profit boards and committees, twice as committee chair.

To meet new people, to listen to them with keen attention, and then use my education, creativity and professional authority to deliver what they want and more is a true delight and a way to ensure that my life and capacities never stop expanding.

I am blessed with a daughter, Chloe and many wonderful friends.  My other passions include hiking, music, and enjoying and promoting Santa Fe's creative community.
